This 1970 GTO Convertible is an excellent example of a classic muscle car that you can drive everyday, and enjoy while making a few improvements here and there.
Finding a sought after '70 Convertible collector car is really an arduous task (as most of us know from experience).
And to find something like this well optioned GTO in this condition, that you can actually drive, enjoy a car show, or cruise-in, and in the winter time, pull it into your shop or garage, and play with it.
The Bright Red paint has been on the GTO for nearly 30 years, and shows very nicely.
No dings to speak of, just a few scratches from sitting in the garageYou know what I'm talking about! The 400 Pontiac big block starts, and runs very well, and has about 20K miles since it's rebuild.
The rebuilt Turbo 400 Transmission shifts very smoothly, and the 3.
23:
1 geared differential transports the GTO down the street, or the freeway perfectly.
Inside, the deep black bucket seats are comfortable for short or even long trips.
Surrounded by factory sculpted door panels, black carpeting and headliner, the wood-grained dash makes for a sporty contrast, housing all of the functioning factory gauges.
Aside from the excellent chrome rear bumper, there's not much bright-work on these GTO's as they now have an Endura front bumper, that could benefit from a respray due to paint checking.
The clean, dry undercarriage looks great, and although, not show-detailed, it is original and well presented.
The big red original rear spoiler adds an element of muscle to the GTO, and the nice sounding dual exhaust is finished of with the factory dual cut-out rear valance panel.
Factory original cruise-control, and air conditioning that can use some help, this GTO provides an excellent, if not rare opportunity to own such an Icon typically trading in the $60K-$80K range.
The bottom lineTurn the key, fire the 400 off, drop the power top, and cruise in ultimate muscle car style.
