Zora Arkus-Duntov's ultra streamlined design of the Chevrolet Corvette made it to actual production a year earlier in 1963, and this year in 1964, the Stingray coupe lost it's split rear window design amid many complaints from '63 Corvette owners having difficulties seeing out the back of the car.
Many 1963 coupe owners at the time actually cut the rear spine out and replaced it with the now updated '1964 Stingray rear windowToday, of course, the 1963 Stingray Coupe has moved into iconic statusWho can explain it? This 1964 Corvette Coupe is a very nice example of an original car that can actually be driven anywhere, anytime.
The Original 327 is long gone, but the all but identical appearing 283 V8 works very nicely between the fenders.
This Corvette has been owned by the came individual since the early 1970's, and was repainted in it's original color of Silver/Blue in 1980.
That paint work has been on the car ever since, and if you look closely, you can see the bonding strips that Chevrolet used to bond the fiberglass panels together at the factoryCool! This particular Corvette starts, runs, and drives very nicely, all of the gauges function except the clock, the brakes work great, and the headlight buckets work properly and align nicely as well.
The under carriage, although not detailed, is clean and free of damage, rust, or fiberglass rot.
Also, feeling under each fender lip, there is no indication of repair there as well.
If you like these mid-year Corvettes (and who doesn't), and are considering a nice one that you can drive anywhere, This 1964 coupe would be an excellent candidate to add to any collection of classic performance rolling art!.
