Nothing! Even the diehard Chevy and Mopar guys can appreciate the smooth, sleek body, and the engine line-up of the all new for 1969 Sports-roof, especially the highly visual, and striking looks of the Mach 1.
With a new decade on the not too distant horizon, the American automobile companies were all swinging' for the fence in their Muscle car/Pony car line-ups to capture everyone, and anyones dollar.
Chevrolet's '69 Camaro SS was a nice move forward by their camp, and Mopar would wait until the following year (1970) to tempt buyers with their all new E-body Dodge Challenger, and Plymouth 'Cuda.
That brings us to the Blue Ovals brand new, and fresh offering within the Mustang corral.
Specifically, their street brawler, the Mustang Mach 1! Named for the point of speed that breaks the sound barrier, the all new Mach 1 was a vibrant, visual and high performance machine that proved to be second to none.
The Beautifully restored 1969 Mach 1 you see here is one very fine example of a rare S code 390 CID high performance 4 bbl equipped Mustang.
Fully restored with some nice Day 2 light mods, such as the classic, always a great choice American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels, a stereo system, and a few nice performance upgrades as well.
Excellent owner history, and extremely well cared for, this Mach 1 has managed to negotiate the last 7 decades with much aplomb.
Owned by the same couple for the last 41 years, and prior to that time owned by another family member, makes it easy to see how this particular mach 1 enjoyed a life as a true family member.
Very clean, strong engine, nice shifting transmission, and quiet differential means you can enjoy an easy, fun, reliable drive in a classic muscle car.
Push the accelerator down and your senses will be filled with the wonderful sounds, and performance sensations from a time we all should experience.
